Photographers Note
Travnik used to be the capital of Bosnian State in the Ottoman times where the oldest religios school (Madrasa) in the country was built. Being a capital had brought the residence of many political and religious personnel during that time. And the city was enriched with the mosques, madrasas and clock towers. One of these mosques is the one shown here.
This mosque in Travnik is known as the Colored Mosque or Ornamented Mosque (arena damija), but its real name is Sulejmania Mosque, named after the Bosnian Vizier Sulejman-Pasha Skopljak who had the mosque painted inside and outside with colored paints. Here colors seem to be faded but the beauty of the architecture remains. There is a "bezistan" (roofed market) under the mosque behind these pillars. Money earned from these markets have been used for the maintanance of the mosque.
Additional note from the entrance door of the mosque: Formerly there stood the Gazi-Aga mosque from the 16th century. Later Bosnian Vizier Sopa Salan Camil Ahmed-Pasha built a new mosque in 1757.

Hi Mehmet, the repated structure and the style of the ground are really nice; however, I would like to see the whole mosque as well. (From this point of view the mosque resembles the old Istanbul houses.)

Hi, Mehmet,
Very pleasing perspective line, with just a little mystery in the darkness behind the arches. Excellent textural detail in the stonework, and overall a nice composition.

Hi Mehmet,
The construction of the Mosque make a fantastic impression, excellent perspective through you chose a very perfect angle, also the sharpness and clarity its perfect, the street with the cobblestones maybe little bit overexposed, but absolutely not disturbing.
Have a nice day.
John.
