War ruins in fog - a bit different from my previous colourful posts from BiH. Shot on very high ISO with noise increased in PS.

Next port of call after Mostar was Travnik, much less visited town in Central Bosnia. When I arrived both of the hotels I had known about were closed and no one was offering homestays. AND, it was late afternoon...
Fortunately, in the Balkans, be it Bosna, Shqiperia, Makedonija or Kosove, one is never left alone in distress. In a few minutes someone offered a helping hand a gave me a lift to the nearest motel back on the Sarajevo - Banja Luka road.

Groza! W Chorwacji widziałem podobne widoki, ten ptak to chyba gołąb, można interpretować jako gołąbka pokoju, oby tylko nie kruk lub wrona

Witaj Kasiu,
Wybrałaś bardzo trudny temat. Tu, na TE rzadko spotyka się tego typu fotografię. Tym bardziej, jestem pod wrażeniem!
Widok jest straszny tak jak straszna jest wojna. Świetna praca.

A tough subject under tough conditions, Kasia. I like the choice to shoot at a higher ISO to give this a grainy, horror-film feel, fitting the subject. The faded, gray aspect of this is really evocative, though I wonder if there's a middle ground here where slightly greater contrast would give the house definition without taking away from mood. Still, a really spooky image that certainly shows the horrible aftermath of war, and catching the bird in flight here is a really nice touch. Thanks!

Czesc Kasiu,
tytul jak najbardziej trafnie zdaje sie oddawac to co widzimy na zdjeciu.Faktycznie przejmujace i pokazujace nam dobitnie okrucienstwo wojny(swoja droga nie potrafie zrozumiec jak to sie moglo wydarzyc w zasadzie w centrum Europy pod koniec XX wieku).Do tego zdjecie zdaje sie potwierdzac,ze Bosniacy nie podniesli sie jeszcze w takim stopniu po wojnie jak chociazby Chorwaci.
Co do samego zdjecia i jego strony technicznej to naprawde jestem pod wrazeniem jak swietnie potrafilas stworzyc tutaj nastroj grozy i sprawic,ze obraz dziala na nas jeszcze bardziej intensywnie.

Pozdrawiam serdecznie i zycze szybkiego powrotu do zdrowia

Zdravo Kasia. Many hearts are in this state too but those it's not possible to photograph. Eerie effect- the solitary bird (is it the dove of peace, although unlikely) adds to the mood of desolation. Nice of you to include the names of countries in their native form and pronunciation.Pozdrav. Klaudio.

an evocative and clever post processed effect here. It certainly makes an impact and expresses the melancholy atmosphere of these war ruins so powerfully. Intense and moody imagery!

Hello Kasia,
"Nightmare" is a good title that suits this picture in several ways, including the description of your arrival in Trevnik. The combination of fog, ruins and a big black bird creates a rather eerie atmosphere. It's a very well taken photo and very different from the many sunny, lovely views on TE.
