Dedication to the proud and unflappable soccer team from Bosna-Hercegovina who on their debut appearance in the World Cup competition stood their ground and made the world take notice of their skill and determination. If it wasn't for the unfortunate own goal, the result may have been quite different.
Naprjed Zmajevi za Seher Bosnu.
I include a snippet I found on Facebook site Seher Bosna- Moj Rahatluk which explains with humour the own goal and I hope the creator of the site doesn't mind:
Začula se pišta – početak utakmice. Začula se pišta – gol. Autogol. No, dobro, navikao Bosanac da u goste ide sa poklonom. Uvijek smo bili kulturan narod, ko bi nam zamjerio…
"The whistle went-the start of the game. The whistle went-goal. Own goal. Well, fine, the Bosnian by habit goes visiting with a gift. We have always been a cultured people, and who would take it amiss..."
I hope no more such presents are given by The Dragons. One kind gesture is enough.

Hello Klaudio, I am not a football fan, so I do not know anything about the goals, but I like this photo very much. Splendid composition from Mostar from your archive. Beautiful colour of Neretva, splendid view of the old town behind the bridge. 1975 - iot means it is still the old bridge that was destroyed later. I saw it in 1968.

Very nice view of this bridge, with a perfect composition. The bridge makes a kind of natural frame around the city.

Nice to see a shot from Mostar again and I really like the note, the quote from Facebook made me laugh.
Still... standing one's ground (well, almost) while in a football pitch facing the Argentinian team is an achievement to be admired.

this is a wonderful view through the high bridge with perfect framing and composition. The Bosnian football team definitely deserve to be complimented for the great spirit and skill that it displyed against its much fancied rivals (The snippet made me smile :-)). Thanks for visiting my gallery and showing interest in the wooden toys. I will surely find out more about how they sell them abroad and let you know.

The most known and most infamous bridge out of the last history from Mostar.
Sorry, but nobody learns something out of the past, this see we everyday in the world.
Your picture is sublime, and very well with the look through under the bridge.
An excellent composition, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

a very nice tribute to an unfortunate team, still,as we in England know only too well `you can`t win them all`
Better luck next time!
This is a lovely view of the iconic bridge with the foliage providing a good frame.
Best wishes Les.

Spectacular scene of the famous old 'new' bridge as centrepiece connecting east and west part of old town over the gorgeous green river. Lovely light, nice composition and capture.
And about the game that has to be arguably the worst game of the World Cup so far for Argentina have been incredibly poor, while Bosnia have grown in confidence as they realise what little threat the South American side are posing. Bosnia have three added minutes to stun one of the pre-tournament favourites by grabbing an equaliser... take away the own goal and this game would end in a draw. For Bosnia they leave Rio with their heads held high.....much higher than that bridge....

J'aime beaucoup cette composition. La contre plongée donne beaucoup d'ampleur au superbe pont qui sert de cadre au village en arrière plan. Le ciel est superbe.

Excellent choice of POV.
Under the bridge a splendid view of the town on the riverbank with the minaret just included.
I like the framing with the greenery at the left. The colour of the river fits well with the overgrown watersides.
I was there in 1982 when it was part of Yugoslavia.
Best regards, Paul

Complimenti e..Forza Italia..eeehhe...Luciano

A very appreciative and kind gesture directed towards a team that should hold their heads high. They played hard and represented the country with pride. An unfortunate bounce of the ball makes for the agony of defeat, but it's incredibly refreshing to see there's still a sense of humor that exists from their following.
A lovely composition which utilizes the arch of the bridge to frame the town below...or should I say "above" from this particular point of view? :) I've only seen pictures of this bridge from an elevated position, so this is very nice, and for me, an original take on the city. Have a great afternoon. Take care.

It is good to see someone else addicted to the World Cup matches going on in Brazil. As an old soccer/football player, I've had to put everything else on the rear burner, so to speak. While playing striker (and captain) of my university's team in the United States, I was surrounded by Latin Americans, who taught me enough Spanish and Portuguese to land me in jail. The game between Croatia and Cameroon is about to commence, and I thought I would write my note at the beginning of the contest (I've been able to predict with 100% accuracy the score at the beginning). Good luck to both teams, may the better team prevail. By the way, this is an unusual and excellent photo of the reconstructed bridge in Bosnia.

Smart choice of a vertical format with nice reflections in the water with excellent sharpness and a good upward pov on the bridge. Good graphism too. The vegetation at left adds depth as well as framing the scene nicely. Tfs!
