Photographer’s Note

Jumping over the Mostar Bridge is a tradition performed by the brave divers of the town. In the past young men used to jump over the bridge to proove their caurage before the wedding.
Divers from the Mostar Diving Club perform exiting diving shows to the tourists.
Photo taken just a few seconds before the diving. The height of the Mostar Bridge is 24 metres.

Many pictures we have from the famous bridge in Mostar. But your shot , dear Sibel, is so original. I like your idea and your realization. The good result of your experience and sensibility.

Hello Sibel, an interesting alternative view of the bridge!
It certainly looks high from this PoV.
Good composition with the person to one side of the shot.
Thanks for the reminder of how this bridge looks from the riverbank.

An unusual and thoughtful view. It's good to see the bridge alive again.

When some refugees came over here from Bosnia I wrote a song about one of them, who used to dive off the bridge, did karate and was put into the concentration camps:

From the bridge to the river
One hundred feet or more
Diving for life
Diving for pleasure

Chorus
The man in white
With the belt of black

In a room so dark
With nine hundred others
Breathing for life
Breathing for survival

Moving softly
Moving quickly
Fighting for life
Fighting for honour

The bridge has fallen
