Way of cross - last hopes Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is taken on my second trip to Medjugorje. At the top of hill Križevac at the bottom of 8 m high cross I found this girl sitting and and making her last prayer, alone in total silence.

Could it be that this shot was taken in the evening. If the girl could be made to stand out better against the background would have made the scene more dramatic. But I like it nice shot though.

A very powerful image, and an excellent POV. I'm not sure about the sky I must say a little too orange for my liking, but striking all the same, almost post-apocolyptic! I have been drawn to look at this image for a long time, it is difficult to stop, it provokes many thoughts. Congratulations

Hi Darko.
It is difficult to chose a picture in your gallery, because all are wonderfull.
This one for example, has a special beautiful colors colors and a great composition, placing this cros and the girl on the better places of the picture. A very good work with lights. Congratulations and regards.

Hola darko...this is a very intense scene...both the storyline with the human figure just adding and the POV, colours, lighting & detail.

Hello Darko,

I chose this picture and not your last post.
I find this picture very lovely through the pink/yellow colour to the sky.
The handrail lead us to above at the cross, but the young girl beneath at the stair gives a extre to the picture. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Darko,
I'm suprised that this one has not received due admiration from the TE community. The pov offers a dramatic composition with the cross, the sky and the lone girl saying her prayer. Impressive detail in the foreground, which you must have achieved with effective post-processing I presume as there is no reference to a neutral grad filter or fill-flash. Regards,

Excellent management of the contrast, artificial-like but pleasant to the eye the sky. Maybe the girl is a bit hidden, but she's not there to be taken picture at, such a framing is the most you can get without disturbing her.

Very interesting shot. Surreal in contrast between the foreground and the background, perhaps a bit unnatural but captivating even so.

No complaints here about the positioning of the girl. She adds to the scene where she is and repositioning her is to change your subject. Frankly, I don't see the point in that.

hi, darko. a very dramatic, syrreal capture of this mountain top cross. well timed. the background sky with the setting sun greatly enhances the mood. nice composition with the stone "stairs" leading to the cross. given the recent and not so recent history of the area one can think of many things that this composition is telling us about... my compliments and TFS.

This is a very beautiful and moving photograph of a place touched with so much hope.
The colour of the sky is very dramatic.
