Photographer’s Note
The town of Blagaj is built on the site of the Roman town of Bona, most likely named for it's mild weather patterns. ("blaga" in Bosnian stands for "mild"). Today it is a pilgrimage site as it holds a maquam (a shrine) sacred to the Sufis around the world. (wikipedia)
This small town/village is located 10 km south from Mostar and only 5-6 km from my home village.
For some reason about hundred years ago two churches (Serbian Orthodox and Catholic)were built in this dominantly Muslim place. This is the view from the road to Malo Polje, along the river Buna. In the middle section you can see the tower of destroyed Orthodox church and up in the hills the remainings of castle of the ruler of this province Herzeg Stjepan (Stephen). The second church was not destroyed, but it is not in use.

Hi Brano,
lovely and peaceful picture of the small town, running river's water nicely embed into the composition, fresh summer colors with the mountains in the background. Cannot properly see, but think there is some building on the top ?
Nice work!
Have a great weekend,
Mike

Brano, fotke iz BiH su ti lepše nego iz Amerike. Evo najboljeg primera. Puno pozdrava i uživaj!
