Photographer’s Note

A small perspective souvenir from a very quick rush through Brugge last november, black hour already for this one but the fact the city is listed on the UNESCO world heritage helps getting attractive light on the nice canalside houses.

Hello Jean,

This is a very strong shot!
The angular, receding lines pull the eyes with them towards the target, silvery building in the distance. It is great to enjoy the warm, detailed architecture along the way!
The evening shadows make a good contrast in this well composed shot.

A great perspective along this beautifully lit façade. Exposure is very well managed with no hotspots around the brightly lit areas and yet still enough detail in the relatively unlit areas u=in the distance. Beautiful golden tones combined with great clarity makes this a wonderful image.

Très bonne perspective. Même si il ne s'agit pas d'une blue hour, la lumière sur les façades est très belle. Le canal aurait pu être un peu moins vide car malgré le cadrage au petit oignons, l'image manque un peu de point d'interêt.

Outstanding perspective chosen, with the eyes being led right down that golden wall. Rich blacks and reflections thrown in to finish the scene perfectly. Beautiful architecture. Very well presented JY.

Hi Jean,

very impressive perspective and reflections. However, the more important thing is your exposure control. the photo is very well exposed and there is no over-or-under exposed area in this night shot. Congratulations.

Belle photo de nuit qui n'est pas sans me faire penser aux entrepôts de Hambourg.
Par contre ici la lumière sur les façades de briques est plus forte et permet même un travail avec le reflet.

Lumière , lumières ... tout est lumières ... la visite sera encore agréable sur ta galerie cette fois-ci. Encore une image délicate du chasseur d'images suractivé et qui doit avoir ( au moins ) un compteur bleu sur son appareil. Mais ne change pas de main , surtout !

A good view for a ghost film!!
And Brugge is in spanish "Brujas" English translation from spanish is "Witches" !!! Ha, ha, ha... ;-)

Souvent montrée cette ville mais jamais avec un cadrage si original.Excellente cette perspective toute en or qui se termine par une pointe de bleu,la nuit profonde lui sied bien...

le cadrage est au petits oignons. La façade dorée rend par contraste cette eau si noire bien inquiétante. La petite lumière, en profondeur achéve la perspective de la meilleure façon. Bravo.

Si tu n'as pu passer à Bruges qu'en vitesse.... il faut que tu reviennes! Et surtout que tu me préviennes pour que je puisse venir y flâner quelques heures avec toi :-)
D'autant que je ne suis pas allée à Bruges depuis mon arrivée sur TE, ça manque dans ma galerie!
Super perspective qui nous emmène loin dans la nuit noire.

un angle de vue un peu serré mais bien cadré verticalement , bonne netteté, tient ce n'est pas a l'heure bleue..

Bonjour, Jean-Yves. tu fais des infidélités à l'heure bleue ;o). Mais bon, ce n'est pas mal non plus ici. Tu as créé une excellente perspective en faisant coïncider les extrémités du bâtiment de l'avant-plan avec les angles de ta photo. J'aime aussi de voir cette maison éclairée différemment qui contraste bien avec les teints orangés de la première série d'habitations.

Every corner, every POV, every blue and black hour of Bruges is an idyll on its own. You made great use of this astonishing perspective and vertical cadrage was the more impressive way of presenting this. I wonder where you settled your tripod. On a corner, on a bridge?
