Photographer’s Note

They are of North African descent, modern women determined to be independent. Their group was growing by newcomers arriving from several directions, finally came their instructor : as girls, they never had the chance to cycle and now they want to practice a little before venturing into the busy streets ; the centre of Brussels is not the best for cycling but still some routes can be a good alternative to cars.

The friendly and elegant young woman on the left with a very expressive face agreed to be taken in photo but objected to the fact that I would publish her portrait on the net, so I blurred her face (a pity, really !) :

another photo for my theme of ’Rainbow Belgium’ (hence the frame with our national colours, I know some of you might object…)

That seems like quite a rendevouz in the middle with some fun expressions and a lovely old worldy feel. the colours and sharpness are superb

oh la pauvre fille, elle voulait être prise en photo et elle est floue? sans doute a t'elle bougé??? mais cette photo est joyeuse, l'indépendance des femmes du magrhreb??? je le souhaite de tout coeur mais pas encore d'actualité je le crains..
alors et ton séjour en Turquie?

Sympa de voir ces femmes réunies, qui semblent pleine d'énergie et gaies, toutes à bicyclette... Tu as bien fait de flouter le visage, à la demande, de la jeune femme...

Are all of them having a unique cycle . Is it some body sponsoring this . Great document on the young generation of Belgium.
