Situated in the north of the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg, the 23 villages and hamlets of the Commune of Gouvy welcome you in a beautiful landscape of greenery, woods and rivers...

We want to keep an intact nature...

For the lovers of the nature, Gouvy is one of the richest communes of the country in natural reserves because of the 11 reserves of the R.N.O.B. (Réserves Naturelles et Ornithologiques de Belgique) covering a total area of 40 hectares. Nowadays, if the affection and the confidence of the people of the Ardennes are difficult to conquer, they are big-hearted, proud of the past, nature fanatic...

Having the advantage of being situated in a beautiful nature without pollution, the commune of Gouvy offers an exceptional landscape to the inhabitants and visitors. This is a region where you can find wooded hills, large valleys, little and welcoming villages...>

In our immense spaces, the tourist is not considered as a product to exploit but as a person and the inhabitants like to speak with them.

Today, the Ardennes are no longer cut of this hectic world. The rhythm of life is different and if the people have now a lot of evidence of their past, our little villages could have combined the pleasures of a healthy, simple and quiet life.

Another one of Gouvy just out the backyard of the garden of my holyday house. the rainbow was there just reaching the hills of the Belgian Ardennes. I hope you like the shot.

Goedemiddag Jaap,
Het is fijn om een foto als deze te zien op zo'n grijze en regenachtige dag als vandaag. De regenboog steekt mooi af tegen de wolk en het landschap wordt door een aangenaam zonlicht verlicht. Prima compositie met het dorpje iets links van het midden en dat dennenhaagje op de voorgrond is ook uitstekend. Mooi werk!

Hello Jaap,

A gorgeous rainbow frames the foliage in a natural semi-circular frame, and a square (carper) frames inscribes the circle within. The old mathematicians would have been especially happy to see the "squared circle," which is a symbolic representation in Leonardo's Vitruvean Man. Well done.

tu viens te perdre dans nos beau Luxembourg ?
Tu as bien fait car les jolis paysages y sont légion aussi et je vois que tu as autant de talent dans les Ardennes que dans les Flandres.
Superbes lumières et un ciel bien noir qui dégage parfaitement les couleurs de l'arc-en-ciel.
J'aime beaucoup les couleurs de l'avant plan.

Great shot, with the obvious hightlight being the rainbow. The lighting is wonderful too, especially the sun on the field in the middle with the sheep, while the surrounding areas are in shadow. Very beautiful and peaceful!

Ik hou van het getextuurde geblaaderte in de voorgrond hetgeen 'n introductsie vormt naar het overige tafereel. Mooi kleuren en licht, en ik hou van de dieren wat onder de regenboog grazen. Ik vraag me af welke schat aan het einde van de regenboog ligt. Prachtige werk!

Goedenavond Jaap,

Dit is een teken van onze zomer verleden jaar, weinig zon maar regelmatig een onweer en zeer labiel weer.
Maar dit resulteert in een mooie foto met regenboog boven het Ardennese landschap.
Uw wereld beroemd vierkant formaat is weer in schot in de roos.
Mooi foto werk.

Another eye popper of an image. I once read that to make a rainbow image really work put something eye catching in the FG. You have done this twice in this image with the green shrubs and the pleasing farm scene in the middle ground. All of the technicals are spot on the money. Well done.

A very nice landscape, it looks like a good place for your vacations. I like the light, the blue sky that it is possible to see between the clouds, and the rainbow on them.
The soft colors work very well, and the cows in the meadow give a touch of life.
Good work, with a good setting and a good composition of the elements.
I like very much also the title of the photo, reminds me the beautiful song with the same tittle.
