Snow on the Fagnes II Photo

Photographer’s Note

Pour faire suite à ma photo postée hier, revoici une vue plus typique des Fagnes, hauts plateaux dont le sol est dominé par la tourbe, les marécages.
Dangereux donc de s'aventurer hors des chemins balisés et encore plus d'y faire du ski de fond sauvage.

Le lendemain de ma balade là-bas, deux autres Trekkers bien connus, MarcT et Dkeus31, arpentaient également les fagnes de Baelen.

Ici je me trouvais à Bévercé, non loin de Malmédy.

Une très jolie compo sous une lumière difficile que tu as bien gérée. De très jolies couleurs et un superbe ciel qui contraste bien avec les couleurs fauves du sol.

Hi Daniel,

There is a wonderful sense of the sky being in motion over the empty and static earth .. such a tremendous and dramatic sky .. I feel some noise in the clouds? .. very effective emptiness against the powerful sky ..

Une ambiance un peu catastrophique mais le ciel bleu représente une sorte de bonne nouvelle qui rend finalement la compo positive. Bel impact visuel, grâce à la forte saturation des couleurs...

A very nice group friends on the high Fagnes, together with Didier and Marc.
You play excellent with light and dark part, this care for a excellent composition.

- C'est encore un très beau paysage des Fagnes que tu nous présente là, avec un ciel également dramatique accentué par l'utilisation du filtre polarisant, j'aime bien ces paysages de neige, quand elle ne recouvre pas tout mais laisse entrevoir, contrastant avec elle, un peu de terre, très réussi, bravo !

lovely winter scene, with your ususal durwael signature. stronly underexposed areas contrasting some brightly lit ones. nice warm color/light work on the snow. radiating and vibrant.

You chose a ver good point of view to take this picture and I like he depth very much! The colors are good, especially the sky and the clouds look fantastic. Also the sharpness/ depth of field is good. Just a wonderful composition!

Hello Daniel,
I love those clouds of yours! This was a gift to you for being out in such bad weather. The old saying among photographers is: "the worse the weather the more dramatic the lighting is". It certainly applied in this case. This is a beautiful and very dramatic landscape with some of the finest clouds that I have ever seen. Marvelous photography!
