These two towers, which would have supported the pulleys for the mechanism at the top of the mineshaft, stand a little way from each other. The western tower, on the left, is the more modern of the two ruins. The eastern tower is an imposing, stark, rusty skeleton of its former self.

These towers make a very interesting shape against the sky and the fact that one is renovated and the other is not makes the photo extra interesting by putting a new perspective on the passing of time and what we want to preserve and why.

Goede scherptediepte en compositie. Misschien iets te veel rood bijgekleurd in PS?

Minor what a trade!! Which life of labour. It is necessary to pay homage to all these men and women who are descended at the underground of the pits.Well done Jacques.

Fine capture, Jacques. These lifttowers are really impressive and the contrast between the two makes this shot, your compo works nice here. Good job.

Impressive shot. These two behemoths look so alien on this landscape. Yet they match it also. The beat up, weed covered ground echoing the past that these towers were a part of. This entire landscape is still marked by its past life. I also like how the trees and bushes are starting to overtake the older tower in an assault. Very stark and very impressive. Good job.

This is a fine TE shot telling us something of a bye-gone era. These two structures are very distinctive against the lovely, soft sky, to a certain extent mind boggling since they are almost exactly the same in form but completely different in condition. Well done Jacques.

Cadrage parfait. Bravo.

A very nice repetition and a good angle on them. And even though things repeat they are so different in their stages of decay.

Love the contrast here between the two towers, very well seen taking the two in the composition..Great colors and sharpness.I've added the picture to the group theme i created.. Coalmines after closure..Well Done Jacques!!Is dit in Maasmechelen of Eisden ?

Well done Jacques. A good photo of the two towers. Is this coal mine open to visitors? A few years we visited a mine in Wales and we were able to go underground using the lifts that the miners used to use, and wearing the safety packs and hard hats. It really brought home to us the life miners used to lead (as some still do).
points tomorrow.

(Voir Workshop)

In Limburg the old coalmines are beautiful. They give a peaceful, quiet and (beautiful) old-fashioned atmosphere in 2000's. Nice shot, nice colors.

While digging with the search engine in the word "coal" I came across these impressive structures. (Jean-Pierre) P.S. I added them in my favorite.
