[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A former farm situated next the canal Bruges - Sluis (Damse Vaart). The canal was dug on order of Napoleon but never got finished. The only boat sailing on it nowadays is the tourist boat Lamme Goedzak that you see in the distance. This picture was taken not far from where my previous post was taken. I turned myself a little more against the sun which made the blue come out better I think.

Critiques [Translate]

Hi Hendrik,
Exif info shows me that the settings were totally wrong and here are the reasons:
1. For landscape photography you never need ISO 400, it`s too noisy.
2. The shutter speed was too short, just because of the high ISO.
3. The lenses don’t work perfectly well at 5.0 apertures. You should use 8.0 or above.
4. Even if the manufacturer recommends sRGB mode, I think that it is better to use Adobe RGB because of the wider gamut and after you are done with post-processing convert it to sRGB and save it for the web.

On the other hand, the composition looks very good to me.
Regards,
Nelu

Prettig weekend, John.

Bonsoir, mon ami Hendrik,

Alles ligt hier klaar!!!

Prettig weekend,
John

Hi Hendrik,
This one is another magnificent composition, of a nice landscape crossed by the canal, the barge, the house and the sky.
All the elements work to give a great quality to the image and very much visual attraction.
You have controlled very well the difficult light and have obtained a few wonderful reflections in the water and a few natural colors.
A great work.
Best regards,
Josep
PS: your attempt of writing the critique to my photo of the mills in Spanish is had successful, is correct. Thanks.

Another lovely and tranquil scene a beautiful picture with glorious colours and most enjoyable too.
Thanks very much for sharing

groet Jaap

The light from the side has caused some very strong contrasts as well as the lovely tones of blue, which are attractive. The perspective composition works very well with the canal leading the eye right through the image from left to right. I think Nelu has made some very good technical points, particularly as f5 is a very narrow DOF for a landscape. Nevertheless it is an attractive scene

Hi Hendrik,
Huge depth of field and an excellent composition. Colours are very vivid and it's sharp throughout for f/5! i have the same lens...great aren't they?? Good job.
