The béguinage of Bruges (in Belgium) was founded in 1245 per Marguerite of Constantinople, countess of Flanders. The small Scandinavian masonries, tiled roofs and windows with squares, surround pre flowered where poplars rise. The houses, with their small garden,
have between one and five centuries.
True village in the city, with its Church, the béguinage was closed at the falling night. The women lived there in community without pronouncing the strict monastic vows. They were thus free to turn over to their former life.
