Photographer’s Note

TE trek... East of Belgium; 9th of June

Starting very early by car at clear sky conditions in Frankfurt, Belgium surprised with thunderstorms... Taking the sunrise was obsolete.

The challenge getting a coffee and breakfast that early was hard to cope; the artificial lake of Gileppe was used to shorten waiting time. Rain, more rain, lots of rain... with additional lightnings and thunders.

The road on top of the barrier with its border stones gave this view - sorry for the lamp's mast (right upper corner) but its reflection worked fine.

Low hanging clouds changed the scenery every minute.

My special regards to Didier triggering the meeting and Brigitte (inaugurating a branch of bibitours in Belgium) and Jean-Yves.

Hello Knut,

This is an excellent picture to show us how to take advantage of adverse conditions. B&W works perfectly here and the abstraction of the road is a real visual treasure.

Hi Knut,
I love your note and I'm sorry that we had to make you wait so long for breakfast! ;o)
It was really brave of you to go down to the dam to take this shot under the pouring rain. The B&W conversion is almost a "must" here and the composition is ideal. The repetition of these structures make a pleasant graphical effect and the detail of that tiny flower in the foreground is wonderful.
It was really nice seeing you again and also meeting Laura and I hope both of you will be part of future TE meetings!

Ce que j'aime c'est cette petite fleur isolée dans ce monde minéral et humide.

Jolie perspective créée par ces bornes. Bertrand et moi avons sans doute fait des images similaires dimanche après midi.
juste dommage que la ligne a gauche ne soit pas parralèle au cadre.

Magnifique Knut,
voilà comment donner du panache et de la dimension à un paysage sous la pluie et sans couleurs.
J'aime l'inclusion discrète de cette petite plante au bas de la photo.
Au fait, tu as un WS.

Bonjour, Knut. Comme j'ai pu constater samedi que tu maîtrisais très bien notre langue, je me permets d'écrire en français. Il y a une excellente profondeur dans ta photo et les lignes courbes qui s'enfocent dans l'image sont très plaisantes à voir. Le point de vue bas fonctionne très bien et les reflets - particulièrement celui de la plante à l'avant-plan - sont particulièrement réussis.

Amusante image avec ces répétitions de structures. La grisaille était encore plus impressionnante qu'à Clermont...

Hi Knut,
This one is from the part where I had not joined the meeting yet. It is a very nice graphical one where the B&W conversion works really well. It strengthenes the feel of the dull weather we were facing in the morning and the early afternoon.
I post you a workshop from the Moulin de Val Dieu where you just hung your camera to the hat-rack.

Belle photo, seul vous étiez descendu si bas pour nous rapporter ces photo du basz dans la douche. Je me suis bien amusé avec vous et votre compagne et j' ai été content de pouvoir vous aider quand vous me suiviez. Amitiés Thomas

Excellente composition en noir & blanc!. une atmosphère "humide" parfaitement rendue et une belle perspective en courbe.
