Photographer’s Note

Gand, this city of Belgium, has lots of architectural assets. Not only her Castel, her Belford, but also her very typical middle-age houses from the Weeds' dock.
These ones have a noticable finess, and were very well preserved since Middle-age.
On this night scene, there are several elements which have motived my framing.
First, the river, "La Lys". It was very quiet, and their frontages were wonderfully reflected on the water. Also, her bend takes us in the background, where you could find a second element of my composition, the Church and St-Michel's bridge. The third one is the walk on the right. This is the Corn Dock, with its boats & its flowers. Finally, ths sky wasn't too dark, what prevented from having too hard contrasts.

Great one your composition! Excellently balanced the light in this night shot. You have chosen maybe the most beautiful corner in Gand, I really love it!

Cette photo est superbe de part sa composition, le thème bien sur ainsi que les nombreux détails notament ceux des reflets dans l'eau. Je me demande quand même si c'est pas un petit peu trop lumineux mais ça n'est que mon avi.

Ooo... haven't been to Ghent yet, and your picture makes me to take my camera, tripod and get to the train.... I love this kind of reflection of old buildings in the water, you captured it beautifully.
