Photographer’s Note
I guess i mentioned it a couple times how beautiful
Brugge is and that i could spend days there and take 1000s of photos...unfortunately i only had 4 hours and took around 400 pics - here is another one of them from somewhere next to the Begijnhof with the tower of
the Church of Our Lady (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk) in the back.

Sights to see in Brugge:
Bruges has most of its medieval architecture intact.
There are many beautiful medieval buildings, including
the Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk (Church of Our Lady), whose
brick spire - at 122m - is Europe's highest brick tower/building.
Bruges is also famous for its 13th-century Belfry,
housing a municipal Carillon comprising 47 bells. The
city still employs a full-time bell ringer, Aimé
Lombaért, who puts on regular free concerts.
Other famous buildings in Bruges include the
Beguinage, the Heilig Bloed Basiliek (the Basilica of
the Holy Blood), the modern Concert Hall and the St-
John Hospital. The historic centre of Bruges is a
UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000.
Bruges also has a very fine collection of medieval and
early modern art, including the world-famous
collection of Flemish Primitives. Various masters,
such as Hans Memling and Jan van Eyck, lived and
worked in Bruges.
Heilig Bloed Basiliek (the Basilica of the Holy
Blood). The relic of the Holy Blood, which was brought
to the city during the First Crusade, is paraded every
year through the streets of the city. More than 1,500
inhabitants take part in this mile-long religious
procession, many dressed as medieval knights or
crusaders.
Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk (Church of Our Lady). The
sculpture Madonna and Child, which can be seen in the
transept, is believed to be Michelangelo's only
sculpture to have left Italy within his lifetime.

Hi,
a very impressive colour play. showing the people in the bridge and the boat is just great. The flowering tree adds some detailes to the architecture. Also, I like the sharpness.

very nice vertical composition playing very well with the various vertical elements (trees and church). The colours are excellent with the contratst between the greens of the trees and the reds of the roofs and buildings. Great catch.

I can see the beautiful city of Brugge has still got her celebrity. In this picture, we can notice the entrance (by a small bridge) of the Beguinage. A very quiet and unreal area inside the heart of the towncentre.
Good shot with the church in the background.
Cheers,
Nico.

Thorsten,
Great composition and POV. You have framed the church perfectly with the trees. The eye is led through the photo nicely by the canal. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The people and boat add a nice human touch to the shot.

Asa

Hallo Thorsten,

Hi Thorsten,
I like this view on the cathedral squzzed between two trees, very nice addition to this compo is a boat and bridge with people giving some scaling propositions to this huge tower. Very nice colors and good contrast. Well done, Bravo!
