Photographer’s Note
Going on a little walk through Brugge/Bruges.
This photo shows the Ezelpoort - one of the 4 gates to the town (besides Smedenpoort, Kruispoort and Gentpoort.)
**************************
Bruges (called Brugge by its native Dutch language
name which assumedly used to signify landing stage or
port) is the capital and largest city of the province
of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It
is one of Europe's most important landmarks as the
city centre has hardly changed since the Middle Ages.
The municipality comprises the historic city of Bruges
proper, considered one of the most beautiful in
Europe, and the towns of Assebroek, Dudzele,
Koolkerke, Lissewege, Sint-Andries, Sint-Jozef, Sint-Kruis,
Sint-Michiels, Sint-Pieters, Zeebrugge, and Zwankendamme.

Hallo Thorsten!

Hi Thorsten
Very pretty scene showing off the interesting gate and it's reflection in the still water.
Good pov with the bank cutting a nice angle. The foreground is really attractive with the swan so well positionned in amongst the daisies.
Pretty light too.

Thorsten,
This is a great shot. The lighting and colors are outstanding as is the sharpness and DOF. Your composition is good showing the swan in the foreground with Ezelpoort in the rear. The reflection and the framing of the shot are great as well.

Hallo Thorsten,
Sehr eindrucksvolle Aufnahme.

Nice shot Thorsten, I would love to be in a place that was as neat and clean let alone so interesting, when you ad picturesque it is almost unimagnable to me these days. It really is a great shot tho, colorful and very well composed; wonderfully assymetrical.

Guten Tag Thorsten,
I see that your a visit to Bruges brought with a subject the "Ezelpoort" the most North side of Bruges city. In Bruges are indeed four gates, the "Kruispoort" and "Gentpoort" and "Ezelpoort" and "Smedenpoort" these gates are intact, see to my gallery and you find different picture out of Bruges the city where I almost every week come. A excellent picture from this gate with the swan addition.
Best regareds,
John.

Hi Thorsten,
Brugge is so picturesque. I'd love to visit one day.
Your compo is really nice, with great lines (the horizontal and diagonal and the verticals of the house and swan's neck) and nice elements (the swan makes for a really attractive foreground).

VERY nice composition you've got there, even the little white specks of swan down on the riverbank add agic to the scene of a well framed old city gates, and probably hides the guano that must be littering the place as well :D

Hello Thor!
It is the first time visiting your profile and I'm really pleased! I like many of your pictures but I chose this one because I like much the composition of it, and always when vividness marks an image, I do pay attention at it!
Thanks for sharing and best Regards,
Nessie
