Young cadets of the Sedov, a photo from West-Vlaanderen, Flanders

Photographer's Note

A group view of some cadets of the Sedov, all dressed in their best white uniforms for the entrance in the harbor. Some were aloft a few minutes ago, parading in the rigging (see my related posting). They are are young, healthy and ready to discover another Western Europe country, a world which was at the time rather different from their own country.

In workshop :
- another entertainment on board : tug of war (here, the Germans in the foreground versus the Russians, but much more friendly than in Stalingrad...) ;
- arriving in the harbor.

Je savais bien qu'il y avait des hommes derrière les voiles. Et ce portrait est sympa.
La couleur blanche est élégante.

Hello Emmanuel,
Like Bertrand says these cadets are very elegant in those white clothes. I like their relax mood some enjoying the sun and others looking at your camera. Those two behind look like two models posing for a photo for a maritime fashion brand.
I like also the rope and their diagonals creating nice dynamics.
The light was very well handled making the whites very pure without overexposing them.

Bon, je suis toujours dans le trip "Ostalgie" et je trouve cela toujours aussi sympa. Cela fait passé, 70/80's. Les cordages structurent le haut de la compo.
