[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Back to what I prefer the most: pictures of old architectural heritage.
This is the ceiling of the Damme town halls. They have been very good preserved and now serve as exhibition room (for selling books, artwork,...) and also for meetings (mariages, business seminars,...).

A small word of the history of the town hall. This building was initially constructed in 1241 and was rebuilt in 1464. Count Thomas de Savoie and countess Joanna from Constantinopel gave permission to the town to build this hall. The present town hall was built in 1464 on the place where the old hall stood before. That hall was believed to be about twice as large as the present-day town hall.

I very much like the old arches and ribbed ceiling. The medieval contructors certainly were very skilled craftsmen! Pity that this isn't done anymore (too expensive, I guess).

Hallo Hendrik, het Stadhuis van Damme is meer dan de moeite waard, dit zijn kleine details maar o zo mooi, alleen gemoet ze zien, mooi werk.

Very nice detail of the beautiful and old arced ceiling, Hendrik. Good symmetrical view of this interesting pattern, and a great informative note you wrote. Maybe you could try to increase contrast a bit, but other than that a very good photo - well done!

Une image simple mais efficace car l'oeil se promene bien autour de tout les détails de ces voutes.
C'est bien de presenter ce style d'image interessante sur different style d'architecture.
