This is the city square of Antwerp, Belgium. The name of the city has its origins in a legend involving a mythical giant called Antigoon who lived near the river Scheldt, exacting a toll from those crossing the river. On refusal, the giant severed one of their hands and threw them into the Scheldt. Eventually, the giant was slain by a young hero named Brabo, who cut off the giant's hand and threw it into the river. Hence the name Antwerpen from Dutch hand werpen (hand-throwing).
The big statue in the city square shows the hero throwing the cut hand of the giant and is a very popular photo stop.

Hi Pradeep,
Well composed photo with the sculpture on one side, clouds on the other side and typical local architecture in the centre. It is strange point of view though, because these houses appear like having only facade and nothing behind. Just an optical illusion, I know...

Hi Pradeep,
We had almost the same idea to compose this picture.
Here I see that the head of the statue is not in the shadow...;-) This great market is very impressive !!
