Photographer’s Note
Two weeks ago I was in the small city “Veurne” in Flemish or Dutch this is the same.
A visit to the city for the old buildings and church’s visiting, and making new pictures for TE!
This is interior picture of the "St-Walburga" church, a very beautiful interior.
I’m absolutely surprised of the lovely city, but also of the fine gastronomy, the market with the beautiful old building gives a good feeling during the strolls, with in middle office of tourism.
I’ve enjoyed, maybe you also during the visit at my picture!
Furnes is first recorded as the Roman place Furna. Around 900 AD, it is noted as a fortification against the Viking raids. On August 20, 1297, the Battle of Furnes was fought between French and Flemish forces, in the ongoing struggle between the Flemish cities and the French king.

Bonjour John,
Daniel.

This is an interesting place and thanks for the story in the WS. Well framed and shown, there are very inteesting wooden pards both side, nice coulours too. The light is a bit hard up but there is a transparency to see the architecture.
I like it

Hello,

A different type of shot from you, but one which is still successful. The light flooding the top of the pic is actually a very nice feature for such a church shot, and the image as usual, has good perspective and sharpness.

Excellent shot John! I love the perfect central composition. The architecture presented is quite interesting and the repetition of the elements in this strong perspective makes a nice repetition effect and leads our eyes to that magical light coming from the 'sky'. That overexposed part works well in here. I love it!
Have a nice week,
Ricardo

Bonjour John,

Groet, Henk

Hi John, amazing view. your perfect POV was perfect to capture the sunbeam filtering insisde the church and to have a great perspective.
the contrast is a litle bit too strong in my opinion, but the view, the focus and the POV are excellent.
thanks, ciao

Dag John,

Very good interior shot. Judging by the exposure details there was plenty of light through the windows. The wide DOF has allowed excellent deatil to be captured of the whole length of the church.

Nice photo of beautifull interior. Great light floating from above and well saturated colours of dark bottom. And all details visible. Well done. Greetings T.

Not an easy one with the exposure, John, and I think that maybe you should have metered more decisively against the bright area above the altar to avoid the hints of overexposure. But overall this is a competent presentation in which the symmetrical framing is of course a good choice to convey the spacious and well-lit interior of this fine church.

Interesting to see your vertical oriented motif on a horizontal frame. It balances between the chairs and the columns. The light conditions gave you some challenges to have a balanced exposure. Metering a little bit higher would probably have avoided the overexposure on the top part of your photo.

Dag, John.

Prima werk!

Hi John, I love the rows of chairs and the centre walkway that leads to the front. Exposure for the hall is good but the top part is slightly over expose. I would say this is a difficult lighting situation.

The secret of indoor photography of churches is how to handle the light, and I think that you made an excellent job with the light, almost magical, in this one. Very good job, John.

Hi John,
Great point of view! I like the broken symmetry here, efficient in creating dynamics in the composition...
Superb details and great colours in the fine interior, a bit overexposed in top but very har to avoid here I will think...

Bravo John

Hi John,
A magnificent church interior, richly portrayed in this fine shot. I like how the left side is bathed in light, with the right side in more shadow. A superb POV and somehow the overexposure at the top of the frame works well in conveying a sense of joy and peace and helping us discern all the fine details. Well captured, John.

Hi John,
Beautiful composition, with difficult conditions of light, where there is to make an effort in the adjustments to obtain a good shot.
You have obtained it, lighting is hard but is well solved, by above much light enters, but it gives to an interesting effect and a little mystical to the set.
The low POV is very good, it gives a great perspective us of the corridor that forms the benches until the altar of the church.
Good definition also.
I like very much your picture.

Josep

Bonsoir John

Maybe the light above is a little dull but for this photo in the church it's a good light, some heavenly. The POV in the center is nice with different elements on both sides.
