Photographer’s Note
detail on the door of an old house. I loved the texture of the cracking paint and the rusty old horseshoe.
I may be wrong, but I thought a horseshoe is supposed to be the other way up, with the open end to the top, to bring good luck. This may vary between countries perhaps.
Stavelot is a very pictuesque town, with many very old buildings and a ruined mediaeval abbey, and is certainly worth a visit.

You're absolutely right... the horseshoe should be pointing "up".
The way it's hanging now will cause all the luck to "run away down the points".
But then again, hanging a complete horseshoe in Italy would not bring you any luck: you must have one which is broken just over the half (where the nail is set, in your image).
Beautiful colors and composition. However, I would have cropped the upper margin a bit tighter, to eliminate the horizontal line.
