Photographer's Note

The Eilandje (literally 'little island') is an old part of Antwerp in the north of the city. It is where the oldest docks are. This particular dock is called the Willemdok, named after the Dutch king. It's right next to Napoleondock, which was named after...you guessed it.

It used to be a sort of wasteland, really, but these days the area is undergoing a massive facelift, and it is being promoted as the hippest place in town.

This is the view from the MAS museum onto the old docks.
