An old racing bicycle on a closet
ramshackle decoration, half finished
This picture was shot from a comfy retro seat inside one of those trendy coffee places up. There seems to be a certain hipness in nostalgia, these days. Young people hark back to the old days when things were less complicated, there were real Belgian heroes and Belgium was just a country, not a political statement. Those were the days.
The bric a brac crop here is fully intended, of course.
Eddy Merckx, probably the greatest cyclist of all times, is one of Belgium's most most iconic heroes. After his racing days he created his own brand of racing bikes. This racing bike here is a really early example.

that's a visual treat with an interesting note. The cycle looks so graceful and stylish. You have composed a beautiful image with lovely warm colours. Thanks for sharing and have a great new week.

A very original shot, which mixes in the same subject both a taste of old(ish) technology and the memory of an iconic sportsman from Belgium.
It is fun to look at the details of the bike, realizing how things have changed in just a few decades.
Also great choice of background, whose soft colours make the red of the bike even more evident.
Finally, the light bulb at the top right is a great finishing touch.
