Parallelism
Gare Liège Guillemins designed by Santiago Calatrava.
#3 and the last of a mini-series of this famous station. Both celebrating the elegant line play and the spectacular engineering ánd investigating things like the handling of the context and organic metaphors.
Displayed here is the platform area, it showcases the parallelism of the elongated form of the station, of course helped by the shadows.
The Photoshop 7 work stream: altered the saturation, contrast, curves and levels for the whole pic and some elements separately, using different layers, blended the layers, converted to b/w using gradient mapping and differentially tweaking the contrast, USM-ed, added the signature frame, resized and enhanced the edges and did a gentle USM (0,7px, 21%).

Hallo Bert,

Godd Morning Bert,
Were it not for the passengers, you would have a wonderful symmetrical pattern. The parallel lines converge with the perspective and draw the eyes into the frame at the speed of a train! It is beautifully composed, the lines emerging from adjacent corners and, yet, creating a ontrast: the lower lines sharp and direct, the upper lines curved and more leisurely.
Well done, Bert; this is a fine study.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

very nice the view of the interior of the Gare of Liège, with the parallelism lines to creates depth and perspective in the image.I like the B/W of the scene as the texture of the roof.

Ciao Bert,

Hi Bert
yes, we have all really enjoyed this mini-series, especailly me :)
even though this one is probably the most simplistic, or should i say the least abstract of the 3, its my favorite.
lines, shadows, shapes, light...what more could you want!
wonderful scene.
funny too that you took the photo at approx 1245, which is almost exactly the same time you posted it on TE :)
Cheers

Dag Bert,

Amicalement.
Daniel.
