Just a small break from my series of Patagonia travel photos for a picture that I made more recently.

This picture was taken during a walk through the woods in the surroundings of the village of Weris in the Ardennes area of Belgium. We spent a lovely long weekend with a group of good friends in a house to relax, cook and do some small hikes.

At night it had been freezing a little, so the fields were white. As soon as the grass came out of the shade, the ice started to melt. I tried to catch the drops on the grass by using a backlight situation.

I like snow and especially ice very much and regret that the winters in the Netherlands seem to be less cold since about 5 or 6 years ago. I love ice-skating on natural lakes, but it is just not cold enough to get good and reliable ice. Let's hope for some good winters in the future!

Prachtig die waterdruppels aan de grasstengels, Michael, scherp, natuurlijk van kleur en een passende out of focus background.

Wow, Michael, this is wonderful macro, the light that shines trough the drops is really beautiful, I like the DoF. All the diagonals that are created here are simply great to watch.
Very well seen!
Yet, I made a workshop, see what you think.

Very nice detail Michael. I even think that a duotone conversion , with somehow a brownish tone, would help to make of it a very artistic abstract photograph. There is no research in the compo, it is charcterized by simplicity, and yet these small drops on the grass backlit by the sun, are very appealing.

Interesting. I must say it is really good as this shows patterns and DOF dynamic. Good eyes to have spotted this scene.

I just love it! Nature showing its treasures in all their simplicity... And as Manuel pointed out, it is mostly a matter of having your eyes open and wait to the "tilt!" which makes you "click!"

I'm very fond of that kind of photography, it reminds me of some beautiful images by Nina, and even one of my own "good pictures by accident" :o) [Transparence]

A very well captured shot, and a very nice composition, Michael. I l also like Rinie's WS, I wonder how she got it out of your original version :-)

I like very much this picture... It's the prove that we can do nice composition with simple things. I like also the WS of Rinie ;)
