Photographer’s Note
I was yesterday in Bruges, and many people with my. This picture taken with the Belfry in the background, also the christmas decoration in the foreground. The sun was very low, but gives very nice colours.
Belfry and Halles, Markt 7 : the city's most remarkable landmark. Climbing the 366 steps of the winding staircase is a challenge : on top of the tower you are rewarded with an amazing view . On the second storey is the former medieval treasure-room, today a museum. The Belfry's carillon (47 bells with a total weight of 27 tons) is one of the finest in the world. Concerts are played on it three times a week.

Beautiful light and good framing: I like the vertical lines of bulding on the left and of belltower that seem united by the arcs of Christmas lights. There are three minutes of difference between the time of your camera and the clock of the tower: which one is wrong?!

i love bruges, was there 2 years ago, its a lovely town, indeed; as for the pic - i like that late hours tonality of the pic, the buildings look like participating in the stroll of passers-by

Hi John
Nice choice of details in this compo with the tower in the fading sun as main subject. Just maybe a little more inclusion of details in the lower part had worked too..

Hi John, and happy new year to you !
The strong point of this photo is with no doubt the light, I like very much how it strike the stone and enhances it. You cound have framed a bit lower to get bottoms of the houses in.

Cher John,

Well done again

Bon job John !

Great colors and light! Very fine almost-night shot! I like the blue sky and the contrast with the light on the buildings! Very fine!

Mooie John erg goed werk

The afternoon light gives a very nice and warm mood for this one, John. Good framing with the view along the façade at the left, and looking towards the tower with the clock. Also I have to say that the exclusion of the street level from your photo works out quite well. Good shot.

Bien vu!

A beautiful light in this Brugge-scene, the famous Belfort against the sky, nice !

Beautiful colors, John. The lighting was very well captured. I like the dusk feeling giving a dusk sort of feel to the holidays as the decorations here lay in dark. The curve of the buildings ahead and the buildings on the left give a sweeping feel leading right to that tower which contrasts nicely with everything beneath it. It is very well captured in that light against that sky.
