Photographer’s Note
Picture taken in the university domain, the Sart-Tilman. This controversed piece of art consists of an old american car (brand ? model ?) planted into a huge cube of cement. Lot of people find it ugly but it should be respected as any other artwork (also meaning: stop the graffiti). The sky was pretty nice and adds, IMHO, a dramatic effect to the shot. Does anybody have more info about the artist ?
Tech: crop, small level adj and USM
2005/1/27: thanks to jloup for the explanations. IMHO, my picture is better than the one from their website ;)

Nice picture... a bit surrealistic. I like it. The light is very good and the capture is impressive. Well done! :-)

Hi Rudy
This sculpture is called Death of the automobile. Made by Flausch using a Cadillac it often is used by also controversed so-called artists putting their graffiti on it. It also was used once by someone of the university to express his opinon regarding the budgetary cuts deceided by the university dean and his new 80000 euros company BMW !
In french (and for your coming visit to the Sart Tilman) :

Je reconnais le coin!...pour y être passée de nombreuses fois.C'est vrai que c'est un peu surréaliste, dans ce bois du Sart Tilman, mais ilfait partie du paysage depuis maintenant de nombreuses années.Liégeoisement votre...Catherine
