Photographer’s Note
If you haven't gone yet, there is still a few more days of this exceptional retrospective on Robert Capa, held at the Brussels Jewish Museum (which is very interesting also). Until 19th April 145 photographies are exhibited, including the last one he did before dying in Indochina, (1954). He was 40 years old.
A must for those in the area.
In the WORKSHOP, his portrait by Ruth Orkin (that you see here), in a larger version.
I was actually surprised to be able to use my camera in this museum; (a fact not appreciated by everybody as you can see:); usually it is very rarely permitted in Belgium, specially for retrospectives.

Hey Michelle..
few months back there was one organized by the HCB foundation back here in Calcutta..it does provide an insight,a time to reflect on what was created decades back..something that cant be done sitting over coffee table books or the internet.
A calm fills the four walls.."a must" surely..always..
Love the way youve introduced the letter R..the stairs dont seem to have ended..you are blocking the way :) !
A good capture..smooth..have a great WE
Cheers

Ciao Michèle,
ci verrei molto volentieri, ma credo di non riuscirci :)
Perfetta inquadratura come un invito ad entrare alla mostra. Eccellente B&N.

Hi Michele,
A clean B&W presentation. The treatment is adequate in this case as you want that the interest be on the invitation. Contrast and lighting are excellent.
Well done. Regards.

I like this black and white picture for the cobination of the logos and people. Very art work. Normally you can't take pictures in museums or art galleries in Japan, so I envy you for being able to held a camera in such an exhibition. I have only a catalogue magazine of Capa's work pieces...his photo books were very expensive. :(

Hi Michele
Nicely done in the B&W format in unison with the photographer's work. The angle adds interest as well.

I know what Korkut means since I also have something like this one in the queue, it will have to wait. I hope I'll be faster than him :)
A real smart tilt dear Michele, you tightly placed the writings, passerbys and the stairs. I really like that tight placement.
b&w arrangement fits very well to the scene with the writings and plain wall.
Best wishes,
Burcu

Hello Michele..... marvellous framing in B/W,
the inclination of the work, the light and
the definition do that the image is
effective and communicative.
Congratulations.
Un abrazo y feliz semana.

If I'm not crazy about this photo Michele, it is only because it follows certain, extremely over played trend...
You know what I'm talking about..?
That long stretch of something ( usually the buildings in the street) and the silhouette at the end of it.
And, another awful trend: Tilting everything that can be tilted ( i.e: the photos !)
Saying that - there is one element that saved this photo IMHO...
It's the face of that woman up there...
You see, dear...Those 'long stretches' photos have the people usually with their backs to the camera or being simply absentminded to realize that someone's is taking a shot at them...
In other words: Those superficial photographers up there have no guts to face the faces and they crawl behind the people.
Right here we have something quite opposite…
You had let the people know that you are a live person.
That you see them and let them to see you…
A huge difference in the world of photography.
A very, very huge difference…
My adoration
