We're back at Liège Guillemins train station with a mini TE-meeting! Good to see everyone again, but the weather did not really help.

We had some dry moments around the never-ending TGV station construction site 'Liège-Guillemins' - designed by the way by the famous architect Santiago Calatrava.

The different Point of View:
This shot is taken from the ruins of buildings opposite to the famous train station. Some building blocks have to leave for the front part of the station and bus terminal.
Took a bit of effort to get through the fences and into the half destroyed buildings, but once I found one that still had some structural integrity, a staircase and no junkies, I got a very pleasant high point of view from the third floor! No walls there anymore, so that helped :-)

The place is one big building site, but one day it will be beautiful, the new TGV-train hub 'Liège Guillemins'. One day...

For a previous posting on this place, see here!

Technical note:
I used an ND Grad 0.6 filter here.

Bonsoir Dennis,
Patrick

Hello Dennis

Hope you all had an excellent meeting...forget about the weather ;-).

A very futuristic TGV station,a station of 2010?
Looks very similar with a construction from Spain,I`ve seen here on TE some shots...can`t remember the name,it`s still very in the morning :-D.
Nice sight you shoot from...still working on it,one day will be ended..I mean, they will finish it.

Have a nice day,
Lucian

Dennis
JJ

Hi Dennis,
It was great to see you again and you came with a wonderful mood which I hope we will see again ;-)
When I look at your photo, I have the impression that the station is finished and only the surroundings have to be built again. But the reality is quite different. Anyway, I like this larger view. Good idea!!
Thanks for coming and cheers,
Marianne

Hi Dennis,
orogonal to have an overview and not a detail ;)
your inclusion of the working devices is not bad at all.
was nice to meet you again

Salut Dennis,
Marc

Hi Dennis,
The place looks a mess at the moment but the architecture of the building suggest this would look spectacular when finish. Hope the TE meeting went well. Good result with the ND filter. Well captured and composed! tfs
Cheers,
Renier

Bonjour Dennis,

Hello, Denis!
Very nicely captured building site! It is very interesting to see a part of construction of the building, especially if it is so complicated!
regards,
Greg

Bonjour Dennis
Joli travail.

Hello Dennis,

This photograph is complementary this that shown on T.E
First of all because it gives a whole outline of this new station of TGV and also because it locates this station in its current context.
Regards
Marc

Hello Dennis,

I really like the design of the station but the foreground is not attractive but very informative about the works.
Cheers
JP

In a very fine way you captured the state of the art architecture of Calatrava and the demolition of the neighbourhood. The not so fine weather (dark clouds) give som extra dramatic effect!

hello Dennis,
