My new site 180 new pictures since August 2012

I found these picture back to my archive, on June 14, I did a trip to Namur, with nice buildings and lovely sights on the river.
These river, the Meuse a very important river for Belgium.
Namur is situated in the heart of Europe, a stone’s throw from Brussels.
The capital of Wallonia, for a lot people is Belgium a difficult understand, we have four governments, with to much ministers, but no politic debate on TE.
We have to live together as simple men, as our friend Didi writes, "Friendship has no borders"

Another natural wealth of the Namur region is its soil. Several dozen quarries are in operation and use state-of-the-art technologies to extract and produce limestone, sandstone, sand, marble and, above all, lime and dolomite. The world leader in lime and dolomite comes moreover from the Namur region!
As for the metalworking and construction engineering sector, it covers a broad spectrum of activities, ranging from the Meuse shipyards to numerical control machine tools, including civil engineering and production as varied as surgical apparatuses, metal structures, cable manufacture and equipment for the nuclear industry.
Glass works remain a flagship of the Namur region, with large glassmaking companies which have managed to adapt to change.
Chemical engineering is widely present while the building industry remains the leading private employer of the province.

La péniche imperturbable suit le cours d'eau sans polluer l'atmosphère.
C'est pourtant un moyen pas suffisamment utilisé pour assurer le transport des matières premières de toutes sortes.

Hello John,

This is a nice view of the river with tha boat. The small waves give a sense of the movement of the boat. the POV gives deepness. I like the sky over this scene. I was in Namur once in 1984 for a few hours and a lunch on a commercial visit for quarries.

Hello John,

A fine viewpoint uses both the river and the adjacent pathway to lead the viewers into the scene. The barge is a fine feature, providing a sense of movement and giving a strong focal image. A good light, and a mixture of fluffy white clouds and blue sky add to the beauty of the scene.

this is beautiful scene from Namur taken from the bridge.I enjoy very much this small town or rural sides of Belgium you present to us in many of your pictures.The landscape look very picturesque and it has tranquil and so pleasant mood.Quality as always-perfectly.It has superb clarity and depth as well as captivating,well-saturated colors and excellent contrast.Beautiful place and great execution of the image.

You have given us a very interesting and informative note about this very important and productive area of Belgium. And you have also given us a very fine photograph with which to illustrate it!

The composition of your photograph is delightful, the curve of the river and its embankments leading the eye into the depth of the picture and, of course, the barge on the river adds extra interest, the ripples from its wake making fine patterns in the water.

Lovely soft light, perfect exposure, fine colours and exquisite details and sharpness.

this place looks lovely and peaceful but you've made it fascinating using superb perspective and lighting. I love how the perspectives of many elements converge towards a point near the centre of the frame. The luminosity and vibrancy offered mainly by the clouds and their reflection on the water is amazing. The contrasts are marvellous as far as both brightness and colours are concerned. Hello John,
I like very much the inclusion of the barge which adds a dynamic feeling in addition to the effective point of view. I also like how the boat helps steer our eyes right through the shot and generates these rhythmic patterns on the water surface. Good timing to get the barge in this position with good clarity and colours.

Here are the photos of the climate, such are channels cut by the town in the north of Belgium. People here live in the same brother in friendship with water. Beautiful view of the wide canal in the town of Namur. Excellent image quality and color.

Hello John
Your naval experience takes us for a cruise on Meuse, winding in Namur so I can notice those ripples and secondary reversed ripples bounced on the stone wall that create nice textures downstream.
I presume you used manual settings to avoid underexposure caused by bright clouds and reflects on water and that decision is quite rewarding, given the excellent overall depiction.

Hello John,

You're capturing well this scene by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see calm environment around the river. It's interesting in deep green forest at right center, ship running on river and curved promenade with trees, too. And, the blue sky with thick clouds draws out an additional good effect in this image.

Een hele fijne en animerende plaat van Namen en de rivier! Een mooi gekromd perspectief, fijne kleuren en met als xtra aansprekend element de complexe textuur van het water.
En bedankt voor uw mooie crit. Ik denk ook dat de overheid een duidelijke rol hierin heeft. In Nl is ze soms soepler en soms strenger (op het gebied van bestemmingsplannen en vergunningen). Wat ook een rol speelt is de voortrekkersrol die ze lang gespeeld maar waarmee het de laatste jaren helaas gedaan is.

Une très jolie scène bien présentée dans un bel éclairage. Le canal qui se perd au tournant est très intéressant avec cette péniche. Les maisons qui bordent le canal et la rangée d'arbres de l'autre côté avec la promenade participent à la beauté de la photo.

Je laat wedeom weer zien dat België veel mooie
plekken/plekjes heeft en je weet ze ook keer
op keer te vinden.
De foto is genomen vanuit een mooie standpunt
(en heeft een mooie verdeing): de diagonale
lijnen van het hekwek, de kade langs de
rivier, de rivier zelf, de lantaarnpalen en
niet te vergeten de boot zorgen voor een
mooie diepte in de foto en voor levendigheid.
Verder is de foto ook (wederom) goed belicht.

The sweeping line of the waters edge along the pathway is striking and instantly eye-catching as it leads one right into the image.
