Photographer’s Note

Modelled on the Gesu's church in Rome, the church of Saint-Loup is one of the finest Baroque works to have survived in Belgium. It reflects the tenets of the Counter-Reformation: exaltation of the Eucharist, the forgiveness of sins and the Word of God, symbolized by the magnificent communion bench, confessionals and pulpit respectively.
The three-storey facade is a combination of Meuse limestone and white stone. The square tower, placed in the apse of the building, has remained unfinished.
