The new station of Liege Guillemins by the architect Santiago Calatrava was officially opened on September 18, 2009. It has 9 tracks and 5 platforms (three of 450 m and two of 350 m).
The new station is made of steel, glass and white concrete. It includes a monumental arch, 160 metres long and 32 metres high. The building costs were €312 million

What a great image I love the lines and shapes and the areas of light and shade. Good tonal range througout and well framed/composed.

A new transit hub designed by Calatrava has just opened here in NYC, and I can see a lot of similarities. I like the graphism in this photo, made even stronger by the choice of B/W. I like that this is purely an architectural photo, with no people in the frame.
