Photographer’s Note

One of my preferred sights in Tournai:
the Church of the Rédemptoristes Fathers being reflected in the Scheldt.

With this framing I wanted to play maximum with the rules of composition.
By using the rule of the thirds and while placing the two turns on the points of forces but also placing the building in the center of the image in order to exploit the symmetry of its architecture and the symmetry of its reflection in the Scheldt.

The choice of the white balance makes it possible to transmit the coldness of this stone and the church's coldness which it reigns in general in these monument.

Very few infos are available about this church, here what I found:
Drawing up itself on the left quay, this church of néo-novel style was build in 1862.
Rédemptoristes have the mission of announcing the Gospel.
These monks are sowers of hope who have in heart to sow the Good news of Jesus-Christ.

This building is from now for sell…
