Photographer's Note
Didn't you once dream to leave the dark complexities of the world and follow a smooth and silent glide into the light ? Well this week I did. I just hope for a gentle landing on Monday.
As everyone made remarks about the strange sun, I did some homework to fix the halo effect. I don't know exactly where it came from. I know it was a lot of work to get rid of it. It was a lot of trial and error. Eventually I selected the sky (sun included) and made a layer of that selection, selected the sun and made another layer of that selection. Then I made the sky layer somewhat brighter with an opacity of 75%. I then added some (yellow) color to the sun layer (opacity 100%). Merged layers with background, resized and sharpened. Et Voila

Bonjour Philippe,

Thanks for reposting the photo, Philippe - now it looks MUCH better so I'm ready to repeat my previous critique:
The image is well composed and I like the transition of colours on the sky. Silhouetted FG works well with this simplified sunset landcape shot and baloons below the horizon make me wonder about visiting distance places and pleasures of travel.
Cheers,
Robi

salut philippe, this is a tremendous analysis of the plethora; great tonal range, the-winning composition, and the 2 baloons are a bonus;

Si Icare avait eu une Mongolfiere, cela ne serait pas passé de manière si dramatique :))
Un joli soleil et dans le ciel ces deux ballons qui tentent de l'atteindre.
J'aime bien

I think this really beautiful. The sun looks good standing out boldly from the sky but still very much blending into it. Much more natural than the original. The wide landscape formate really helps with accenting the silhouette, the colors cooling and the two balloons. It gives those two a lot of wide open space to silently float over.

Hi Philippe - beautiful sunset, I like the result of the PP work, the hot air baloons are also interesting.

Hi Philippe. What a strange and wonderful sky. The color changes across the sky really impress and make the shot for me. Of course the contrast between the silhouettes and the sky is outstanding too. Well done Philippe.
