Photographer’s Note
and everybody rushes to the snow, exceptional this year, it lasted more than a week:-).
A joyful sight, all the colors spread out, small and big enjoying the crisp weather, that's simply what I wanted to show. I felt like a child myself...

The domain of La Hulpe was donated to the State by its owner, Ernest-John Solvay, a famous industrialist. Situated in the heart of a 220 hectare green paradise, there is the "castle", nestled in the midst of woodland and is surrounded by a French-style garden with decorative sculptures and a 36 metre obelisk. The estate was originally part of the Forêt de Soignes and still has the feel of a forest park.
In 1988, the movie Le Maître de musique (The Music Teacher) by Gérard Corbiau, starring José Van Dam, was made in the castle and park of La Hulpe.
The domain is also the seat of the Folon Foundation, inaugurated in 2000. Jean-Michel Folon (1934-2005) is mostly known as one of the most popular illustrators and poster designers of the second half of the XXth century. Folon published his drawings in newspapers, mostly in the USA, where he was recognized earlier than in Europe.

Hi Michele,
This reminded me so much of Unicef's New Year cards. You can almost feel the cold with the sun setting and still no one wants to go home. I felt the joy. Good catch.

Hi Michele,Yes your description is quite accurate it is indeed a joyful and very colour sight and so animated ,i particularly like the stance of the two figures on the right ,the trees catching the sun complete the scene . Thanks Tom.

Salut Michèle! Might as well be in Switzerland, all our hills look just like this one over the weekends. So much fun indeed, I do that all the time when we stay in the mountains which is on many weekends, riding down as fast as the wind and SCREEEEEEEEEEM. I am always a little scared to be honest and mostly left alone, everybody is faster than me, sitting in the restaurant when I arrive. Poor me, just kidding! Very nice scene, I like it a lot. Barbara.

Hello Michele. Small multicolored dwarves and elfes in a winter landscape. A picture as from the fairy tale country. Beautifully and worth seeing. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Bonsoir Mchèle, une scène typiquement hivernale et colorée à souhait,une scène idéale pour illustrer un livre d'enfants; j'aime beaucoup l'attitude de la fillette à droite;

Salut Michele,
Bravo! Amicalement,
Catherine

Hello Michele,
The children playing full of life have been expertly caught with a excellent composition with two big trees placed well. The image remind me of a Belgian painting I saw in childhood though i forgot the name of painter.

Hi Michele. The vivid colours against the snow makes this one feel like a painting. You seem to have frozen the action at a perfect moment to display the differing actions. It is a picture full of atmosphere, regards kevin

Hi Michèle,
joyfull site indeed!
Colours rushing all over the place, vivid, happy, screaming with wonderful warm touch on the top of trees...surely do bring some wonderful childhood memories.
But I must admit that this is the limit I can bare...playful winter scene I can leave behind and ejoy the quiet rest of day ending.
A scene I can enjoy only in a role of a child...
regards,
jeri

Bon WE

:)))) Can't stop smiling looking at the photo. Makes me think of all the season postcards I liked to send to my friends. I used often UNICEF collections and there were always some three or four cards showing children playing on the snow - precisely as you show it. The same scattered all over the scene silhouettes, the same poses and colours :))) Never supposed it could be FOR REAL ;)))
Greetings and smile T.

Hello Michele,
You have several fine b&w pictures in your gallery, but I really enjoy this one too. I am surprised that I didn't comment on it before, I thought I had. Lovely spots of blue and red and so many activitities going on. This was a perfect day for taking pictures.
Best regards,
Gert

Salut Michele,
Joli tableau vivant et coloré. Même la lumière dans le ciel et les arbres s'y est mise pour ajouter au spectacle.
Bon dimanche
