Photographer’s Note
L'endroit le plus photographier de Brugge.
The most photographed spot of Bruges.
Avec le musée gothique, la basilique du saint-sang et l'hotel de ville.
With the museum Gothic, Basilica of the Holy Blood and the City Hall.
Basilica of the Holy Blood (Heilig-Bloedbasiliek)
The Basilica of the Holy Blood is known to hold a fragment of stained cloth considered to be a relic of Christ. The basilica dates from the 12th century also houses the Basilica Museum with reliquaries from 1612 and 1617.
Rosary Dock (Rozenhoedkaai)
From the riverbank at Rozenhoedkaai, or the Rosary Dock, you can see moored boats and a scenic view of the Brugge's historic buildings along the river. The view from this site may explain why Brugge has been called "the Venice of the North."
Groeninge Museum
The Groeninge Museum of Fine Arts houses a collection begun in the 18th century. The artwork included spans the 14th to 20th centuries and is focused on local painters. Included in the collection are works by the Flemish masters, including Jan Van Eyck.

Hello John,
A fine view along this canal with its beautiful buildings. I like the soft light and colours of the architecture under the grey sky. Very good sharpness.

Hallo, John.
Philippe

John,
This is a nicely composed shot of Brugge. The canal leads the eye into the scene nicely creating a since of direction. The trees provide nice framing for the scene.
The lighting and colors are fine as is the photo's sharpness.

Dag John,
Brugge op zijn best onder een grijze maar getekende lucht en met heldere natuurlijke kleuren.

Hi John,
Another really refreshing view of the quiet and peaceful time along the canal, must be a lovely place to take a walk with love one or friends just to catch up. Very nice POV with the canal leading us in and lovely line of tree along both sides of the canal and some beuatiful color architectures. Thanks.

Ciao John,
excellent the job of pp. I like the buildings on the curve, beautiful the sky, even if I would slightly have darkened it to create a particular atmosphere.

Bonjour John,
J'ai effectivement déjà vu des images de cet endroit. On ne se lasse pas de voir cette superbe ville de Brugge. L'image est d'une grande netteté. Le ciel gris met en valeur les couleurs. Du beau travail. Bravo.
Bonne journée.
Amicalement.

Hi John
Excellent composition of this Belgian scene. To me it looks fantastic, nothing like this in Australia. Good PP work too. I do like the curve in the river/canal, it takes the eye right through the image.

No wonder it is the most photographed scene in Bruges, as it is very beautiful. I imagine on a still day you would get some perfect reflections too. The strong perspective is doing a fine job of leading the eye into the scene.

Hi John,
I like the position that you took this picture from. You get a glimpse of the left side and the canal leads your eye down to the bridge way in the back. You captured good clarity with the foilage.
