Photographer’s Note
Today a very nice spring day, a lot sun and different tourist come to this lovely village.
Lissewege a village on a few miles of the North Sea, between Bruges and Zeebruges the world port of Belgium, after of Antwerp.
My wife and I enjoy of the splendid strolls during the day
Lissewege, the white village is undoubtedly one of the coolest examples of clean country in the Flemish sea plain: a picturesque center of a village with low white houses, crossed by a medieval channel dominated by the monumental 13th century church tower and surrounded by vast fields and centuries-old need
I hope you can enjoy

Dag John,

Good morning, John!
An at the first glance uncommon composition - but all this pavement here really works very well. These houses look like very well-kept cosy dollhouses. Yes, having a stroll there must be wondeful. And this sky ... great!

Dag, John.

Heb even getwijfeld over deze nieuwe opzet.
Groet,
Henk

Nice crisp, colorful and sharp photo, John, as usual - you found a good angle to show these delightful old buildings, and composed in a way that enhances a feeling of depth and perspective.

Hi, John -
At first I thought this was a wide-angle distortion, but I checked the photo data and saw that it was at 70 mm. As Spock would say, "fascinating!" (I had to stare at the note to be sure; with this new web format, some of the text is a lot harder to read.)
Great use of angles, obviously, and colors. The line of cobblestones leads the eye out of the frame, but then the line of the buildings pulls it back in.
Best,

Hello John -
Yes it is a nice spring day and this is an interesting scene. The building is very nice and picturesque and the look down both streets is a nice touch, but what really strikes me about this scene is the lack of human habitation. The scene really lacks life. A pedestrian, a bicycle rider, a cat or dor, or even, God forbid, a car would make the scene jump off the screen. I am sorry to say that's not the case for me. Technically everything is spot on the money, but....
Thank you for sharing.
John
The "but" does not warrant a lowering of the points though.

Hello John,
This is a original composition with an interesting subject!
I like how you give emphasis to the cobblestone street, leading up to the beautiful houses on the other side...
Excellent details, and the fine light renders great vivid colours!

Hi John,
The perspective and depth is impressing here! I thought it was done with a wide angle lens, the I saw 70mm focal length! The cobblestones in FG add strong graphism too.
Good work

Hello John!
The point of view is awesome. The vivid colours are pleasant as well as the details and sharpness. The light is perfect too. The building has a great style and the tree in front is impressive by its shape. A really good work!
Best regards
Denis!

Hi, John,
This image caught my eye in the thumbnail because of the uncluttered scene, your large commitment to the cobblestones, and what seemed clearly to be a wide-angle view.
I was surprised to see 70 mm listed in the notes as the focal length, but I've skimmed the comments and your replies to note that you shot this with a 16-35 mm lens, which makes sense.
In contrast with some others, I'm not bothered by the absence of people. Maybe the reaction depends on the personality of the viewer? (I'm a bit introverted and prefer nature to cities...)
I like how you have used the two streets to frame the buildings.
The color rendering and sharpness are excellent.
Regards,
- William
