Photographer's Note
At one of the trench memorials in Ypres, Belgium hundreds of crosses bearing poppies have been attached to trees using barbed wire. They are all covered in cobwebs and mud - they are quite atmospheric given their location amongst craters, trenches and the occassional shell casing.

Very poignant reminder during the month of November when we traditionally remember the loved ones who are no longer with us. I have visited Ypres and it is difficult to imagine the awful carnage that took place there not so very long ago. The poppy being a very suitable symbol.
