Photographer’s Note

A little apetizer for those longing for the winter (in case it's not winter yet where you live). Anyway, the astrological winter is almost there and the weatherman has announced a colder weekend (with maybee some snow?).
What you see here is the village of Vivenkapelle. As you can see it is still very rural.
In the center stands one of the most known neogothic centers of Flanders with the church as the jewel on the crown. The church stands on the place of the chapel that was destroyed in 1797. The church was inaugurated in 1867 by the bishop of Bruges and also the little chapel was restored. In the '80 of last century, the church was thoroughly repaired. Especially the interior is remarkable; it is very colourful and cosy. Next to the church, there is also a school, a presbytery and a convent in neogothic style (all of them constructed in the second half of the 19th century). The complete neogothic center is protected as monument.
