57 year Married III, a photo from West-Vlaanderen, Flanders

Photographer's Note

Hello best TE friends, again I want try with a portrait, during a strolls in Bruges saw I this man, he was on way to the hairdressers for his 57 year married.
In the afternoon must this man together with his wife to the cityhall for the ceremony.
I know this man not but then I saw this face, then thought I there must I have a picture.
The man was immediate agreement for a picture, only he found his hair and moustache not OK.

I love your gallery, but your portrait shots are somehow always something special, I can`t explain why, but something really fascinates me about them and this one is no exception, I`m impressed you did this with f/13, you still got a nicely blurred background. Quality is superb and the expression in his face very good. I like it a lot!

Ik neemn iet aan dat hij 57 jaar is...
prachtig portret mijn vriend, goede compositie, prachtige details en mooie gezichts uitdrukking, zeer fraai fotowerk. Ik denk Uw beste portret tot nu toe en dat is bedoeld als een groot compliment, goed werk John prettige avond,... ook als is het verschrikkelijk benauwd hier.

Hallo John. Wieder einmal sehe ich ein Portrait, photographiert mit dem idealen 85mm. Das Portrait ist technisch excellent. Schärfe, Farben usw. sind beeindruckend. Een schitterende foto van een uitzonderlijk fotogenieke kop (hoofd), John, zeer goed van licht en kleur en ongelooflijk scherpe weergave. Vooral de haren van hoofd en snor, evenals het doorzichtig designe van de strooien hoed vind ik bijzonder. Plezier om naar te kijken.

Cette focale fonctionne parfaitement pour les portraits. La profondeur de champ est parfaite la qualité de l'image est vraiment top ! Il est juste dommage que les yeux soient cachés par les reflets des lunettes. Sinon, les couleurs et la netteté sont vraiment parfaits !

Heel mooi! Ik zie helaas te weinig portretten van uw hand, want hier bewijst u toch duidelijk dat u het kunt! ;-)
Mooie shallow focus. De achterwand misschien een beetje druk, maar die heb je niet voor het kiezen. Een mooi portret en ik vind juist de moustache heel veel karakter geven hier! Mooi!

This is a fine character portrait, John. and very nicely framed. You did right to get him to look away from the camera for this 'posed' picture. This was he still looks natural and spontaneous.It is a good lesson for us in how to pose a portrait for a natural effect. regards kevin

Hi John. I had to have a closer look at your portraits. I do like the sense of bonhomie here. He must be a happy man or at least you captured a happy moment. Olá John, I insist you should have more portraits in your gallery. It's really refreshing to see them among your landscapes. This might be the best face of all. Love the glasses and reflections in it. Big moustache, lots of wrinkles, a hat and a nice expression. I just wish to see more space to the left and less to the right but I'm sure you had your reasons for this central composition.
