Saturday afternoon I was together with my wife in Bruges, happy a little bit better weather than the previous days, but a lot to cold 12° Celsius this end of May.
After my knee surgery, I first take a stroll through the city, I took these picture on one of the much small squares in Bruges.
A lot tourists that brought a visit to Bruges shall these place recognize.
A very pleasant square with a nice terrace for drinking a good glass Bruges beer "Brugse Zot" or a "Straffe Hendrik", not to much please!
In background see you the Church tower, also a lot people on the terrace.

I hope that you enjoy of these picture of Bruges.

In the 19th century the square was to be characterized by the presence of tanneries and blue dyers. It is now on the tourist trail of the” Begijnhof” through the Memling Museum at the “Groeningemuseum” and the Burg. It is a busy tourist transit and stopping. The trees, which also largely determine the character of the place, were only planted in 1903. In 1982 the Walplein redeveloped and was a bronze sculpture of the West Flemish artist “Jef Claerhout” placed.
On the square and near have always, and this since the 16th century, breweries stood at least. On today one finds the only active brewery in the town of: Brewery 'De Halve Maan' was founded in 1856 and is now run by the sixth generation of the founder family. Nowadays there are beers brewed in Bruges Zot and Tall Hendrik.
The church 'Le Maire' is also located at the Walplein. It was founded in 1910 in a converted 17th-century warehouse, which were on the garden side also some houses and a small chapel built.
