These picture has been taken during a bike trip to Bruges.
I saw this father and child together on the Burg before the city hall.
This is a very nice moment, I've asks for take a picture but I could not speak his language, but with a hand signal, got I permission.
The blurred background is really, no post proccesing.

There is a strong bond between parent and child.
Parents can not only know what the child is.
By the behavior of their mutual, children will
respond to the things they collect.
The child is important for the parents relationship,
It often gets no favor with argument between parents.
But after a fight, the parents often staring blindly at the child.
Tricky questions will slow their thought. It is a disadvantage for the child.
That is the one that a lot of emotion experience.
The child cannot express because it is too young.
The absence of telepathy between child and parents is disastrous.
For the rest concerns the propagation of love to each other.

Ya starting by great double portrait posting for 2013.
His strong eye contact is very nice and arrtactive. Father's gentle expression is also very wonderful. I am a little surprised that F6.3 makes father's face blurred. But that is why boy's face seems to be so clear. Thanks for your sharing with comfortability and have a good day!

Hello John,
Hand signals is often all that is needed to establish some kind of contact. With a child you need even less. You established a very good eye-contact with the little girl and her father watches you with pride. The mild colours of their clothes and the background make the picture very nice to watch.

He is Greek for sure, first I saw the flag on his swetshirt - than realized he has a watch that gave a definite indication. But, after all - the picture is taken by the baby on hands, gave a fine look over your shoulders, eyes open wide in curiosity.

Truly a very intimate moment between father and child, beautifully captured. The child makes good eye contact with your camera and the father is held nicely in the background.
Often a little sign by hand is enough to communicate between two perfect strangers to come to an agreement for photography.

Une belle images qui montre un moment intime du lien affectif entre l’enfant et le père. Ce vrais que l'absence de télépathie entre l'enfant et ses parents est désastreux, il aussi n'apprend pas à faire confiance aux gens, cela ne l'aidera pas plus tard à former des relations saines.

Hello John, this picture made me smile, just because it is taken in Bruges, the man is from Asia and he is wearing a Greek footer and watch!!!Pictures bring people together and show of how small sometimes is the world! I find this an extraordinary portrait,the blurred father's face is ok because the great highlight here is the baby's face which is showing beautiful and in great expression and detail!
Another impressive thing is the softness on the father's face and the sweet curiosity in the child's face especially on his eyes!
A very unique, sensitive and very beautiful picture!

the greek flag on the sleeve and watch of the father is a pleasant surprise:) I like very much the tight frame that fits the father's posture, his baby stands out with excellent sharpness and is framed also by his arm. Now here's a symbol for globalization if ever I saw one, John - an Asian father and child in Belgium wearing Greek tourist merchandise written in a Latin alphabet!

This is a shot outside of your usual fare, and it's a successful one - a really lovely portrait of this young one in perfect clarity, with a nice DOF that blurs the BG significantly, and father's face slightly. Good colors and a wonderful sense of happiness and wonder here. Beautiful!

It seems that the boy's father loves my country, perhaps more than many patriots of me!

Indeed a beautiful post deep in meaning ! Great close-up of this father and child. The father is obviously proud and happy and the child looks secure in his father's arms and on his chest. I can nearly read his thoughts :"You stranger frightens me a little, but I know I am safe with my dad !"
I agree totally with what you say in your note about the importance of empathy between parents and children.
