Photographer’s Note

Third one of the "sunny canal"-series, taken during a jogging escape two weeks ago. First picture was taken from the canal bank, the second one in the tree tunnel, and the present one is taken from the bridge, straight into the canal.

Yes, this is again the Leopoldskanaal with its typical tree-lined banks ideal for bikers and walkers. Picture is taken from the "Bellekensstraatbrug" in Watervliet and you are looking westwards. For those who like details: find the human on the picture!

Lovely composition! Until I read the "spot the person" note, the trees seemed smaller. Very nice.

haha, de vorige kritiekschrijver dacht dat het kleine bomen waren, en wellicht dacht hij ook dat dit hier maar een "gracht" was. Eigenlijk goed dat die persoon in de foto is opgenomen. Een "jogging escape" ? Moet je ontsnappen om te joggen ?

The composition and balance is great but I feel that it is to washed out and lacks the real sharpness that a shot of this type requires.I have done a workshop to show what I mean

Hallo Mathieu,

Prachtige foto met een mooie atmosfeer. Het zonlicht in deze foto zorgt voor de schitterende kleuren en de bomen komen ook heel mooi uit tegenover de blauwe lucht. Enorm mooi landschap...dat is ons typisch Belgie...toch schoon, he! De weerspiegeling in het water is ook heel goed. Mooie compositie en heel goed genomen. Schitterend werk, Mathieu!

Great shot of this canal with warm and soft colors.I like most the symetry and the person walking on the left side which gives us an idea how big the trees are.Well done

The very long perspective finally got a face! A fine thing is how the light falls in from the side and gives an assymmetric appearance of the perfect symmetry.

wonderful idea, Mathieu, about this lines. it look like kaleidoscope from my childhood:) but for me the lines are too overblured, I agree with Cliffe.

Wat men ook mag schrijven het kan mijn niet schelen, het zijn fantastische foto's Mathieu, clerecasters zijn er in in alle talen en onder alle volkeren, maar voor mijn zeker een 9 voor de kleuren en een 10 voor de diepte en de samenstelling.
