Sunbeams in the Morning Photo

Photographer’s Note

This picture was taken two weeks ago. It was the very beginning of a bike trip I made with a friend, from Watervliet to Ardres in the north of France, via the "Heuvelland" and the war graves in West-Flanders.

It was 10 o'clock in the morning when we crossed the Schipdonk Canal (popularly called "the Stinker") at Moerhuize and the rays of sunlight had just found their way between the trees. This sight was definitely worth a short photgraphic pause!

Picture is completely original.

Hi Mathieu. Very nice composition. The light effect is great like an invisible wall. Maybe a little more sharpness and contrast would help. Well done!

Mathieu,first of all...really charming image.
You get a wonderful moment in a forest.
The POV is a success.

You have captured a beautiful geometric composition! The way the curve of the tree line leads the shadow to angle the way it does is wonderful! Fantastic job!

I like the composition very much but i miss some things:
- little sharpenes
- longer exposition of the right side
- shorter exposition and of the left side
combination of two above in PS or GIMP could give a very nice result. Besides, it would allow to catch the color of the sky.

Zeer mooie ochtendstralen boven de Stinker, Mathieu. Moerhuize is amper 1km verwijderd van mijn woonplaats, dus ken ik deze foto-vriendelijke omgeving zeer goed. Mooie ochtendnevel evenals de weerspiegelingen in het kanaal. Mooi gedaan.

Hoi Mathieu,
Dat de kanalen het zo goed doen op TE ondervind ik wel, maar in het begin kon ik dat maar niet geloven, maar het zij zo. ik vind deze foto zo apart goed door de mooie zonsinval, het is een prachtig plaatje en op heteinde het wegdraaiende kanaal, een plaats waar ik 3 à 4 maal per week voorbij kom.
Mooie streek als ze maar niet verpest wordt door de motocrosbaan!!!

een mooi plaatje van het kanaal, mij ook tamelijk bekend. Prachtige lichtinval. En de originele ! Dat is voor mij persoonlijk belangrijk.
