[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hier j'ai publié unephoto du palais de justice de Gent, aujourd'hui je montre l'autre côté de la rue. La rue s'appellait la 'Korte Veldstraat' et se trouve dans le prolongement de la 'Veldstraat' (rue des Champ). Ici se trouvait, au Moyen Age une des portes de la Ville, la 'Ketelpoort'. La 'Ketelvest' est un canal, creusé pour relier la Lys (Leie) à l'Escaut. Où se trouve maintenant le bloc en style néoclasssique se trouvait un des 3 béguinages qui étaient établis à l'intérieur de la ville.

Yesterday I posted a photo of the Court of Justice, today I am showing you the other side of the street. In the Middle Ages this was the limit of the town and the gate was called the 'Kettle Gate'. The bridge crosses a canal that links the Lys (Leie) with the Schelde river. The buildings in classical style are occupied by a 'brasserie' and the Opera of Gent.

Sehr eindrucksvoll! Dein tiefer Standort ist hier sehr wirkungsvoll und macht diese Fassade noch beeindruckender!

Hi John,
Even though the facade is stylish on the previous version, I prefer this. Angle is more dynamic and the canal gives a better idea of the nature of this city. Light coming almost directly from your back is a bit flat. I wonder if it was possible to lean more over the canal to show more of it.

Jolie vue du Palais de Justice bordé par le canal enjambé par une belle passerelle dont la couleur fait ressortir la pierre de taille des immeubles.
Je remarque que la ville est en pleine extension, transformation, à voir les travaux en cours.

j'aime bien le tour de Gent que nous fais connaitre grâce a tes magnifiques images. La lumière superbe embellit encore les édifices, et ton angle en diagonale est bien choisi.
