‘Ghent - When everyone’s logged in on TE’

A cold evening … empty streets … lonely photographer on the bridge … nobody else to enjoy the view ... most likely everyone’s inside, logged in on TE …

The picture is taken on the Sint-Michielsbrug in the historic center of Ghent.
From this bridge you have a view of the river Leie, the Korenlei (left quay on the photo), the Graslei (right quay) and in the distance the Gravensteen (middle of the picture, rising up behind the other buildings).

In the 11th century, this became the port of Ghent and the trade flourished along both quays.
The castle ‘Gravensteen’, a stronghold, also dating from the Middle Ages, is very famous because it has preserved an almost intact defense system.
