Photographer’s Note
Un scan d'une diapositive trouvée dans mes archives.
La prise de vue date de1973 et elle représente une vue de la zone industrielle qui longe le canal de Terneuzen. A cette époque on n'avait pas besoin d'un ciel bleu avec de jolis nuages.
A scaned image of a slide representing the industrial zone along the canal of Terneuzen that links Gent with the sea.
The scanner is a Epson Perfection V700.

The smoke and probably dust around the area created a special light and atmosphere that made it more interesting. Excellent theme for industrial photography.
Well done,
Jon

Hallo John!
Impressing, really impressing - and the best is the category! ;-)) This meanwhile - I think - looks a bit better - but there's still enough manmade pollution in our world. An admonishing photo...
Gereetings from grey Westphalia - and have a nice week!

Bonsoir, cher John,
Bravo.
Amitiés.

Hello John,
I have such "oldies" in my collection, too (the oldest taken by myself with my first camera is dated by 1979, if I remember right).
I know that "blue sky and beautiful clouds" make any photo much more attractive... but there is also something, besides these, that makes a photo interesting.
First of all, I pay much attention on the subject and composition of the photo. In this case, the composition is very good!
this shot looks almost b&w, and the scanned image has such strange, curuious colours that they add a special mood to this urban landscape.
I see such a landscape (pipes and smoke) out of the windows of my flat every day:( There is a heat station in front of the house..
Have a nice week:)
best greetings from Moscow!

Hello John
A very good scan. With just a thin strip of land and industrial buildings the polluted sky dominates the scene - sending a message, Tfs, Marlene

Hi John,
This is an interesting shot and reminds me of a Turner painting. The "beauty" created by this industrial scene is in conflict with the reality.
