Photographer’s Note
In the small town of Maaseik in (Belgian) Limburg there is a most fascinating exhibition of terracotta warriors from Xi'an. The exhibition has several complete terracotta warriors on show, as well as artefacts and statues from other ancient tombs in China.
Visiting the famous site in Xi'an gives you a better idea of the size of the grave pits, here you can get REALLY close to warriors and that is really unique!
These are four terracotta warrior heads, I love the details in them. It was quite difficult to get it right, as it was shot from behind glass, but I hope you find the result OK.
In the WS there is a view of some complete warriors.
for more info about this exhibition, see: http://www.museamaaseik.be
Also have a look at GVDC's great shot from this exhibition, which was uploaded a little bit earlier. Just click 'Maaseik'...

Hello my dear Benny
Very very strong impact and a little eerie atmosphere. But this is your proud field, I am sure.
Best regards and thanks for sharing.

Nice to see my post from yesterday inspired you to go through your own photos of this exhibition. I haven't had the privilige to visit the Terracotta Army in China, but the exhibition in Maaseik was a golden opportunity to taste the incredible history of China.
I like the diagonal presented in this photo, as well as the focus, with lots of detail on the first head and fading towards the back. Not easy photographing items behind glass, but you did a great job.
Ik zie dat je slechts een paar daagjes na ons naar deze tentoonstelling geweest bent :-)
Ik vond het zeer de moeite waard ... nu nog eens in China geraken: een mens moet kunnen vergelijken he ;-)
Groeten,
Gerd
