Photographer’s Note
They had been sitting there since a long time, totally in their own world, talking in another language, loudly but calmly with some jokes once in a while (reminding me strangely of some old couples : the same quiet joy, serenity and complicity !)…
And I was sitting very close, trying to concentrate on a difficult book but impossible to do so with their talking. After some time, I gave up and noticed once more how sweet and tender and photogenic they were… I took my small Ixus, looked back at the photos taken in the railway station, then unnoticed and with my camera still on my knees, I took this series of photos. On the 3rd one, he is definitely not ‘seeing’ me, even if looking in my direction ; not at all interested, both of them lost in the bright light of that snowy day and looking together in the same direction, towards their future.
(NB : 1 - Maybe not a good idea to show 4 shots instead of one, but here again, I like this chronological succession. There were some others in between, I had to make a selection : they were very quiet and did not move, I was shooting only now and then and not randomly. IMO better to have the 4 together, what do you think ?)
2 - I rarely take this kind of photos (no big zoom !) and still prefer when people are aware of what I’m doing. Interaction is really my thing and my pleasure.
3 - There is this sort of genre in popular literature, called in French ‘roman photos’ ; I had the same idea in mind although it’s true that there is not much action here. You are free to imagine their thoughts and dialogue !

Beau travail.
Amitiés, Grazyna.

Hi Cath, I like the idea of your photos very much. I can easily imagine the situation in the train. The young couple is very nice here, full of joy, as the young ones are. All the photos are fine but I like most the third one, with the girl laughing.
Have a nice weekend

Salut Catherine,

Branko

Hello Cahterine!
Quite a story you've got going here... Masterful shooting 'from the hip' on your part (I especially like the third shot: the one in which he is seemingly looking at you, but actually is not noticing anything) and so kind of them 'not to notice'. But the shutter of your ixus sure must be quite silent... The one of my camera can spook howling monkeys away half a mile away (I tested that in the jungle of Tikal).
I think, You and your little ixus should get a job as a spy... my compliments!

Bonjour Catherine sans Frontières :)
Mince alors !

Si oui, je me demande à combien d'intervalle.
Très belle composition romantique! Bises. Marianne
